Living and working in Europe gave me an appreciation for living well with furnishings and home goods that reflect personal lifestyle and interests, and not just a house filled with purchases made based solely on the latest trends in design. Quality pieces. Items that last decades, not years.

Moving to Victoria, I found that many of the favourites I enjoyed while living in France & Italy were not available here. And not easily shipped. I decided to open a small shop of household goods that I know, use and love, from long established brands as well as a few new artisanal ‘finds’.

For everyone who loves the brick & mortar shopping experience, and the physical & tactile pleasures of browsing. Against the trend? Yes. Something just a little different.

And the name? One day while picking up the morning baguette at the bakery in our small village in Provence, I noticed a small, skinny brown dog had joined the local group of hounds. He followed me home. ( OK, I used the end of the baguette to entice him to follow me ). Long story short: no one claimed him and Trouvé ( found ) - the heading at the top of the posters I put up in the neighbouring villages - stayed with us. The shop is a collection of ‘finds’.
